Value of an 03 RX1 in the summer?

I sold my sled for $4500 which I think is at the top of the price range for and RX1 with 3000 miles. But is was in beautiful shape with a couple of goodies done to it. And if you can believe that his dad brought me the $4500 plus $1800 for my two placed enclosed. You sound pretty mature about this sled thing so go for it, you will love how the four stroke purrrrrzzzz. Look at this link as this is probably gonna be the cheapest you will find.

That kid seriously has a very rich set of parents, or a very strong determination. I'm going to be riding alot so 13k miles seems like a fair bit of stress on the engine.

My aunt has a 4 stroke 07 phazer, sounds real niiiice, can't wait till I find an RX1 to call my own. How much more do you figure the link'd one has in it?

Geez, I wish my dad would pay for my sled. The most he's willing is to pay 1/4 max if I work for the other 3/4, and that's without the goodies I'd like to put on :(

These four stroke motors will outlast the chassis on these sleds. (Someone here chime in with a 15000 mile plus four stroke) You dont even have to check the valves until something like 25000 miles. Give Highmiler a PM and pick his brain. Never hurts to throw out an offer right? Both of the sleds you look st look like they would be a good start.

I would not call these people rich either. I was VERY surprised when they came back with cash. :drink:

Yes, I was actually talking more about the sled as a whole. Should have specified instead of saying engine. I need to make some money before I throw out some offers, I was actually doing more research than anything right now. I'm going to working full time in summer to pay for the sled, so no transactions yet.

Haha, I know what you mean, but you never really know who's got money, or more importantly, where their priorities are.

Right on Canguy. Good luck and work hard. Thats all you can do to attain the toys we all love.
PS. Do you like my new avatar. I figured since I dont have a sled for now I might as well not look like a wannabe. This is one of those toys (96 indy pace truck) that I had to work a couple of long summers to buy. But Ive had it since 98 and I think its probably the longest Ive ever kept anything. Lots of work went into this thing to get rid of.

Lol, good stuff man. I'm more of a Ford guy myself, but I've never really been that biased against trucks. Italian Sports cars? That's another story lol.

That being said, it's still very cool, but what's under the hood?

All the stuff under the hood came from KRC performance in Florida. It is a 408 cid with a pretty decent size cam, 208 RT heads, 55mm throttle body (pretty big for that particular motor),roller rockers,2800 rpm precision industries stall,410 gear. The nice thing about this combo is I can shoot another 150 worth of N2o through the motor and not worry about to many street cars like mustangs and camaros whoopin on me. Now by all means its not the fastest thing out there but it holds its own. Plus the pic in my avatar is on Daytona beach. Yes I can drive this thing anywhere. Ford Lightning guys around here do not like this truck very much. And Its got just a little :bling

make me an offer. Runs Great, and has only 3113 miles.

I really would love to, but I don't have the money to back up the offer. Like I said, I'm mostly doing research for something to buy later on in the year. But I really like your sled, has alot of the essential upgrades, and just around the mileage I was looking for. If you still have it around the fall/early next season, we can talk.

But how much would you be looking for if I were to make you an offer, I see prices flux between 3500 and 6500 so I wouldn't have a clue where to start, plus with all the upgrades, probably even more money than I'll have to spend eventually.

Beautiful looking machine though.

Only had 1 hit on my 03 RX1 LE, silver in color with 1750 miles, new 1 1/4 ripsaw track, carbs just cleaned and synced, new plugs, and a fresh synthetic oil change. $3200 I thought this would be a steal!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trust Me I'd love to give it a new home but I don't have the money at the moment. If it's still available in the fall then I might still take it off your hands. Maybe sooner if I can get an advance of some sort, credit card perhaps?

There's a blue one that going for $2975 in the classifieds.

I saw, but again, 13,000 miles and I'm not that experianced with Sled work, so I'd really rather not have the chassis crap out on me in the middle of a 150 KM ride.

There is a member in the TY Rides thread named Hondo that has over 16,000 on his Venture. Check it out, he has some cool pictures. It's called "TY Mileage Hondo"

That is very impressive indeed. But, as I said before, I'd like something I can drive for a while without expecting to run into any serious problems. 3-5 thousand miles is just fine for me, actually. Can't wait till summer when I can finally work full time without school.
