Does anyone lose coolant on their Vector or Rage?
About every 500 miles, I have to add about 4oz to the reservior. I can't find any leaks and there is no steam or coolant smell coming from the exhaust. I also never overheat.
I assume that I am losing it through the overflow line in the bumps?

coolant loss in vector
I have noticed this also,I now have 900 miles on mine and the last time I rode i had to add coolant to my resivoir. I did overheat once and had steam coming from the hood. It wasn't for long plus when I stopped I put snow on the running boards and cooled it right down. I.m not sure how much coolant I lost but I did add about 4 oz. as you describe. I have not seen any leaks and have had no problem since. I guess I'll keep an eye on things and hope for the best. Let me know if answers appear, I'll watch this post.

You don't have to over heat for coolant to go out the overflow tube it just has to get hotter than normal temps. I had this happen and thought I had a coolant leak as there was coolant under the sled. So I took off the cover on the bottom of the sled to take a look and there was coolant laying on the belly ban. I thought the coolant hose clamp by the oil filter was broke or loose but neither was wrong thats where the overflow tube runs. I don't think it takes much to get coolant to come out the overflow tube. If you look at the coolant tank after running for a while you will see it expands quite a bit so all it will take is it to get a little hot and it will come out the overflow tube. That's what I have found on my sled, may not be your problem but my guess it is. PS. my coolant light has never come on.Sam

I just checked mine again tongiht and noticed that i was low again on coolant. Got just over 1000 miles on it and noticed this is the second time I lost coolant.

The Rx1's always lost a little when the bottle was full. Try not refilling it and carry the 4 oz with you and see if it overheats. It may just be the level where the system likes to be.

At least the problem seems to be consistent among the 4-strokes.
I have not overheated yet from coolant depletion. I have about 1,800 miles on the machine and have to top it off about every 500 miles.
To those of you also doing this, make sure you are adding a 60-40 mix or you will continue to increase the coolant concentration every time you have to add.
Hey, this is still cheaper that Yamalube!

Yup, I've noticed the same thing with mine. I've got 1,340 miles on now. Never over heated, nor has the temp light come on, but I am low in the resevoir.

I have to add about the same amount every 500 miles. What caused me to notice it was one morning I came out to start the sled up and noticed some green under my sled and also notied a couple of drips hanging from the belly pan. So I took the side panel off to check things out. Found nothing loose but did look at the end of the overflow tube and found that it contained some fluid so I just figured that if it gets a little warm that it will blow off a little.
