I need a filter for my vector , wasnt able to get a yamaha filter at the moment, had my napa dealer punch in the yamaha #5dm-13440 and it came up to a napa gold filter 1358, has anyone used these filters is it the correct one, It seems to be a tad bit longer than the 5dm.
The RX1 filter will also work on a Vector and it is longer too.

Yea, we are back. Got home the 15th or so.
I just replaced all of the wheels in the rear skid under the YES. All the bearings were junk. I also discovered the RA cable for the rear shock was broken. Yamaha says it is backordered. I put a temp fix on it and put it back on, for now.
I just got back home from my first ride of the season. A short one of 10 miles. Just wanted to do a short one then look it over again.

What's the difference between a 5GH & a 5DM? I got a spare filter for my 08 Nytro from the dealer and it's a 5GH ---- just looked at the manual & it calls for a 5DM. Do I have the wrong filter in my sled?
DaJudge...When you say it's tight, does that mean it is tight to the belly pan?? is there a risk of causing damage with an undercarrage hit. Or is it just difficult to install.

I'm not Dajudge but I would say yes & yes............ I know the vector filter is a tight fit.. The RX must reallllllllllllllllllly be tight. MM. :ORCRedRX1 said:
MM you may be using a RX1 already. I have a lot of room in there to accept the RX1 but it is a little tight. You have to put it up with the bottom first. With the regular Vector, I just slip it in with my hand on the bottom of the filter. You cant do that with the RX1 filter because it is longer

I was at a dealer one day and I picked up a filter for both the RX1 and the Vector. I was told that I could return it if it didnt fit, well it fit so I put it on. It fills up the opening but I have the cover as well as a skid plate on the Rage so I didnt think it wouldbe a problem. Rich sells aftermarket filters for the RX1 and Vector. He told me that it would fit, so I tried it and it did fit. The filter for the RX1 is one or two inches longer than the Vector filter.

I do not know if the 120HP Vector/Rage motor and the new 130HP Nytro use the same filter. I would say that someone should know, if not now, then shortly. You might also try asking one of the guys that is racing the new Nytro.

Dang, I just ordered 3 of the Vector/Phazer filters! I have to do 2 phazers and a Vector in a few weeks allon sith a couple Rx1's. I wonder if the Phazer will work with the other filter as well. More volume=better filtration i'd think. Not to Mention the ability to get some better filters from Amsoil. That new one is not available outside of Yamy.
