I'm thinking of adding some vents to the xtx. I'm looking at the vents from this website http://www.moflowvents.com/yamahapr.html
I would think the "prefilter" would be a must to keep snow out of the engine bay. For any one that has tried vents, does it increase clutch or engine noise much?
Also I'm wondering if having vents so low on the sled will just ram snow into the clutches when off trail...

Might want to check out the mountain forum for some of your answers. Mountain sleds are working harder at a slower speed, in often deeper snow. That is where you will know whether a vent is doing its job, or not. Have you seen this one?

I think the IP vent would work well with the lower ones. Its definitely in the only place that would really let the heat out.

I used Brtech vents. That is what the yamaha snowcross team used so I thought they would be good enough for me. I was reluctant to just throw any vents on the sled without proper R&D. If you talk to BrTEch they worked with the snowcross team and talked about things such as oil resi temps.

Did you ride a season with the vents? I don't want the xtx to over heat this season like it did last spring?

I never had a problem last year overheating, without the vents. I did get a bunch of snow in the nose of my sled. I only added the to large side vents and the small ones down low by the clutch/oil resi.

I think you need some out the rear to get the warm air out. ie. behind the clutch or up top near the bars some where..

I thought about that, but I was afraid of warm air wafting bringing moisture with it onto me.
