170plus said:the track will only rub the tunnel protectors on deceleration, while under power all the play is in the bottom front of the skid between the drive sprockets and the front of the skid ,the lugs will push more air up into the tunnel so this will slow you some but not that much, its almost like your clutches are binding, you didnt make any changes to gearing or anything else ?we're all really curious to see what it ends up being,Danny should be able to help you out ,i worked there part time the past few winters and that boy knows his stuff, took my first ride tonight and the traction is awesome out around the fields with that packy snow,i was impressed all over again![]()

did you for it and use fule stabilzer last spring or did the dealer do it,might have over done it a little like i said b4,i know the fogging oil cant lay in the "base" of the engine like on a 2stroke but it can lay in the intake system
Last spring when I put it away I fuel it up and used some fuel stabilizer in it, cant remember the brand though. I used up that tank already and am down to 2 or 3 bars on this tank. I never changed anything but replaced some wheels and slides, the drivers and track. No lies at all........on average hardpack I always pulled 122-124 and my best ever was at 3 in the morning around -10 degrees outside and the groomer had passed on the railroad bed around 5 hrs before and the sleds hadnt beaten it up yet. I saw 127 that night. Perfect conditions. I'll try and talk to dan this week and see what he thinks.

Stabilizer ONLY prevents varnishing, your fuel will lose up to 12% of its volitility every month it sits. I always bilge pump out most of what I have in the tank and stick it in the car or truck right about this time of year. Starting out with fresh fuel every year has its rewards and one of them is no power loss.

My 07 RTX will run 124 on the speedo and I think it may have more. Could the proactive ck have more top end than the monoshock?

well we got a little rain the other night and it made the old railroad bed crispy and smooth. Pulled 126 on the speedo. I got this sled last march and it was kinda crispy because of the rain and melting snow combined with colder temps at night. I am capable of the same top end I guess, its just now the conditions come into play a little more than they did with the ripsaw. But on the other hand this track is brutal offtrail. I rode with an 07 600sdi rev renegade with a 136x16 ripsaw and we dragged in untouched snow in a field. There was also a 600sdi xp with us. I left them at the line like red headed stepchilds. No one could get over the difference from last year. The skis and track combined is great offtrail. The renegade got stuck twice and I would park beside him to help him out and then off I went. My friend now wants one for his rev shorty.

i run on a rr bed just outside washburn on sunday afternoon just b4 it started raining, trails were smooth but kinda soft heavy snow from 2 days of warmer weather,i just installed my new track, sliders, rail extensions, had maybe 5 miles on sled after work was done,no lubrication at all for the new sliders on the trail so i pulled into the deep stuff to cool them and hit 126mph in about 1/2 mile,i think my new set up will work very well once everything gets burned in and we get some good hard trails, this rain should give us a very hard base up here in the county

I have the same problem with my setup. 105 is all she wrote, on groomed stuff. I'm going to tighten the track a little and go back to the pink secondary.

went out tonight after work and on that same stretch i hit 126 on the other day when it was warm and a little soft i hit 130 tonight and had to let off because it was snowing and dark and i thought i was on the millenium falcon going into light speed, kinda scared myself a little cause i couldnt see a thing in front of me,just the bushes on the side of the rr bed,the trails are very hard with about 1 inch of ground up ice over the top from all the traffic since the rain and it froze, just started snowing so that hadnt added anything but i think im gonna crush my old top dreeam-meter speed of 134 when we do get some good trails and i can hold it for more than 1/2 mile

have done a bunch of little stuff like machine and trueing the clutches, trued front drive sprockets, have windage plates on secondary with stock helix machined and washers spacing the helix out 1/16" to prevent coil bind, have secondary usually at 50 or 60,stock front clutch except yellow-pink-yellow spring, added 6- 1" holes in front of airbox under front lip so air goes thru foam ,set injectors using an exhaust gas analyzer on each header pipe to get each cylinder burning the same, the list goes on and on ,not much money involved but lots of time, this year im running the fox floats at a lower pressure and the rear skid set softer with the limiter strap pulled up 2 holes from factory so when im on it the whole sled sits lower and the track rolls easier,of course i cant give away all my secrets in case i run into one of you guys on the rr bed but there are no clutch kits,no power up kits ,no fuel programmers, nothing on my sled that didnt come from the factory(except some aftermarket wheels and a dayco belt) and it works really well, this is not a 0-100 drag race set up cause i dont run studs on the trail so i might get pulled a little low or mid but not on top, hope this helps trample some non team blue sleds
