2007 Apex RTX top speed results

Craig,

Thanks for the reply. It makes sense that it is off by more MPH the faster that you go because it is a % error. I just was curious as to how much. It looks like the "dream meter" is about 11-12% "optimistic".

RD,

If the error is 11-12% then 136 MPH indicated would be about 120 MPH actual.

Are you telling me that you have seen 136 MPH on your dream meter?

The Radar Gun we used on Sunday has always been accurate. GPS always reads a little faster.(1-3 MPH) It a Bushnell. My speedo was reading 106-107 MPH when I was seeing 110 on the Gun. I have 2 teeth ground off my sending unit. Pete only ground off one and his was closer to the radar gun readings than mine. I think the 118 we saw was accurate. We also saw 116 twice. He's never seen faster than 113 MPH on both the GPS and the same radar gun last season. One advantage running on Turkey Pond is that it is almost at sea level. We always see our best top speeds at this location. My sled would have been faster if my slides hadn't been sticking.

I checked my garmin legend gps with the radar gun that I have they usually read the same.Maybe you are still picking up speed when your passing the gun.My gps works the best when it is warm and mounted on the handle bars.If I run with it in my pocket it does not seem to get accurate readings usually reads slow.My sled is pretty much stock except I installed a polaris IQ suspension in it.I can run the track loose now with out racheting and the slides do not seem to stick. I am not getting the weight transfer out of it that I would like, still working on it.
