very low top speed compared to last year

Before I would do anything, I would find someone that has done nothing with their sled and have them compare speeds from last year.
I myself have never found the begining of the year snow conditions to be as good as it can be. I always found in the early season to burn alot more fuel and not get much speed.

Wouldn't hurt to put some fuel injection cleaner thru it. Woke up my R1 after the second year of storage. I run half a bottle thru my RTX every 4th or 5th tank.

I going to go to my dealer tommorow and talk to the head mechanic. Hes really good with these yammies so I'm gonna see if he can go test it. The track is not rubbing at all, this track is notched 1/4" so the clearance from my heat exchangers is actually 1/8" more than a ripsaw. I did try tightening it really tight and it made no difference. I did notice tis year that when my sled starts cold it will start to miss and sputter after a few seconds of running and then return to normal then sputter somemore and so on till its warm but still seems to miss a little when fully warmed up. Not sure if its related or not but I would like to have that taken care of. Not sure what to think anymore, pretty discouraged that a small track change would rob me of almost 15mph when it makes 6-8mph difference on a diamond drive firecat that is wayyyyyy over geared from the box. I dont know hopefully I'll get it starightened out.

Mono skid is interesting.. When you lift your rear end up, track must be really tight. You can try this like this way: Lift your rear end up and plase brick or something under rear wheels and drop sled on that. Now you can see how loose track gets when skid is on normal riding position.

I'm not a mono skid, I'm proactive ck.

I am surprised bc isn't this track similar to the new Cobra track. Camoplast said there is no loss of top end between the Cobra and ripsaw from all their testing.

I really think I got something else going on here. Thetrack may contribute to a very small portion of it but I cant believe its this dramatic. 1" predator here I come.

Do any of you think that maybe those quiet run bumps on the track might have something to do with top speed. I love my quiet run track but my dream meter top speed is only around 108.

Which model quiet track do you have?? What was your previous top speed on the speedo before the track swap?? Anything is possible I guess??

Mike, should you run a regular ripsaw that tight as well for better speed?

I ride with several F7s two of them have 1.375 tracks and studs the others have 1inch tracks and studs..

The 1.375 sleds pull alot harder out of the hole to the point where you would have to be running down a river for the shorter lugged tracked sleds to catch up..

My sled is only pulling 2-3mph faster on a lake than the sleds with the Snopro tracks..

Ive never seen higher than 115mph on my dreammeter with clutch mods and gearing, so if you were pulling 120+ on your speedo you have one of the better running sleds.

the track will only rub the tunnel protectors on deceleration, while under power all the play is in the bottom front of the skid between the drive sprockets and the front of the skid ,the lugs will push more air up into the tunnel so this will slow you some but not that much, its almost like your clutches are binding, you didnt make any changes to gearing or anything else ?we're all really curious to see what it ends up being,Danny should be able to help you out ,i worked there part time the past few winters and that boy knows his stuff, took my first ride tonight and the traction is awesome out around the fields with that packy snow,i was impressed all over again    did you for it and use fule stabilzer last spring or did the dealer do it,might have over done it a little like i said b4,i know the fogging oil cant lay in the "base" of the engine like on a 2stroke but it can lay in the intake system

I have a ripsaw quiet run. I never tried top end with my old finger track so I can only go by what other people say they have experienced. By the way, mine is an RX1
