Mine now has 1100 miles on it,and top speed has only increased by 2 mph from the first 250 miles, yesterday at sunset I ripped it down the RR bed which was lose in the middle and only hard almost in the bush next to the bed,and temps finally hit 25 degrees,i also have my straps tightened up more than factory settings sense I drilled another hole in the straps to try and get some more ski pressure on them dulley's Yamaha gave us xtx owners,i only have 6" shapers on inside and stock 3-4 inch on outside,so it turns good under normal riding, where I cant hold on,is when we run the twisties hard,it shows it true length,144 is 144 no matter if it does have 6 degree tip up rails,it does not turn like a 121 its not bad,but really that was a good advertising cue! So top speed guys, who has any triple digets on there xtx apex, mine had been kinda stuck at 107 gps or 111 speedo, than after a branch took out my right hand mirror and bruise my hand hard, when the branch hit it at 107 gps,ok another run was in order, same snow, same temps, rpms running right at 10,800-11,000 tach, and top speed now 113 flashed 114 but read 109 gps,if it had been early morning when bed is much harder maybe I could see a solid 112 -114 gps or 116-118 speedo, funny at 90 on speedo gps reads 88.4 closer as speeds are under 100 mph. So what have any other 2015 owners seen so far this year??

In the ballpark...Seeing the same on my 2012 Apex XTX in simular conditions running Bregstrom triple points about to change to Aggressive STs.

Cool, how is your handling threw the tight twisty stuff,on the yammie new dulley skis,i am thinking about trying my 5.7 pilots next time up to camp.

Radar run this Sat so I will know on mine, but u didn't say what distance u are getting your speed at? ?

My 2012 XTX had under 350 miles still breaking in and the speedometer read 110 mph on 4th Lake in old forge for a short distance, sled seems to be gaining slight increments in power the more I been riding although have not recently done any more speed runs lately to tell if there is any difference.

if you play with the skid you will no longer feel like a 144 mine is as good and better the=an my 121 was with snow trackers on single kiel skis.

We don't like the tuners skis on 2011 & up Apex. The tuner would have been an excellent improvement 10 years ago to help eliminate darting but the after market did a very good job with carbide offerings to correct the problem. Bergstrom triple points work well as do Stud boy duece bars but Snowtrackers are the best on single keel stock ski. We didn't like the tuners now in the corner of my bud's garage back to single ski with STs.

What single keel ski do you now have on it? And to what exstent have you done to dial this skid in.

This was only done on a groomed RR bed or large road, also groomed but not fresh groomed, and both timeswhen the biggest part of the trail was already trashed in middle,so only part of the skid was on good snow, and temps the other day was much warmer than we have had in some time,as far as distance maybe 1/2 miles or until it was topped out, when I saw 113 constant it flashed 114 speedo,so my guess is for 109 gps it was locked in at 113 mph,at slower speeds under 100 mph the speedo vrs gps is only 1.5 mph difference,as soon as you pass 100 is when the speedo vrs gps differs up to 4 mph,but this is still very close, when I had my 05 fusion,it was suppose to have had a very accurate speedo, but same thing passed 100 it was off 6-8 mph and on my 08 rev 800 same thing, off 7 mph at 120 speedo it read 113 gps and my 13 turbo cat, same thing, off 6-8 so in retrospect the Yamaha speedo on there new sleds they now have the closest speedo, unlike there older speedos of 03 thru 2010.

I have a 2013 Apex 128 and last year, with 524mi on the sled, on a hard packed road in Canada it wouldn't go over 88 /89mph. Brought it to the dealer to be checked out and they said everything was Ok and that it was my touring windshield that was holding it back. I couldn't hold back from laughing.
This year I put a brand new belt on before the trip, sled had 2161 miles at start of trip, and when we hit a hard packed lake sled wouldn't go over 93/94.
it is now at a different dealer to try and figure out whats wrong. its sad when you get beat by other Apex's, Vectors & a 600 Etec Skidoo.

Try a different secondary. A friend of mine had thesame problem would go like hell to 90 then die. They tried both clutches off and older apex and bang 110ish. I believe it ended up being the secondary. Bushing might be binding on the shaft. Worth a shot, quick and simple.

Trails are not fully packed but I have 600 miles on mine and can't seem to get over 95 mph. Was expecting more. Thinking maybe put on a new belt but what should I expect for top end?

I have an 2011 xtx with 8200 miles, pc5, air box mod, ulmer clutching, clutches cut for overdrive, running a Backcountry 1.75 lug track. stock skies with snowtrackers. 21-37 gears, best I have seen on snow is 104 gps. Going to try 22 top gear next if we get any snow.
