My sled is Vibrating noticably through the handle bars. I checked everything over, drive shaft, belt and rear suspension. While I was checking things the sled was running and it seemed to still vibrate. So I took a look at the primary clutch and grabbed a hold of it to see if it had movement. I could move it up and down slightly. I checked the tightness of the bolt and it was good and tight. It looks to me its the bearing in the gear reduction box.

Has anyone had this issue before? In my experience there shouldnt be any play at the primary clutch.

Its a 2006 Apex RTX 7500kms. Ive always changed the oil regularly and cant understand why this bearing would go. If it is the cause I hope the gear box is ok.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

My brother had a vibration problem which turned out to be a lower drive (speedo) bearing.

It could also be snow build up which I have experienced a lot this year.

Hope this helps. ;)!

I have no studs. The sled is stock, no performance parts. The play is what you call axial play. Just wondering if anyone elses clutch has this play. The drive shaft bearing is good, I checked it out. I'm worried it maybe a crankshaft bearing.

You've probably got a bad drive belt. Put on a new drive belt and the vibration should go away. Note: running it on a bad drive belt can cause damage to the engine, clutches, bearings, etc., or could even cause DEATH if it explodes just right.

is the clutch noisy,i had the same problem with mine ,was a bushing in the clutch, took it to the dealer and they replaced it under warranty. They said it was the first they had seen
