I recently purchased a 2004 RX-1ER as a leftover. I finally got to ride it about two weeks ago and was very impressed. My last sled was a Bravo so you can only imagine how this thing feels to me. The problem I am having is that the sled is vibrating as bad as my one lunger Bravo did. I don't think it is supposed to. My friend has a 2004 rx-1 that he just bought and it runs very smooth. It seems like it gets a little better when the clutch ingages but it still vibrates even after the clutch is in. I replaced the plugs thinking that it might be missing a cylinder but it wasn't that. the sled now has 50 miles on it. the Bravo has about 5000. Please help!

The choke is all the way off and it does Idle fine. The engine seams like it is running fine and making full power. I think it is more of a mechanical problem than it is carberation. Could it be the clutch not balanced? One thing I noticed is that the clutch wieghts are not in contact with the spider when the engine is not running. Is this normal?

Mine does the exact same thing.
05 RX-1 ER.. 6 miles on it.
Feels like your riding a F7 the way it vibrates.
Got my carbs apart yesterday... perfectly clean.
Today going to re-assemble everything and check the choke cable freeplay.
I'm thinking my sled was dropped in the crate or something hit it.
Airbox on clutch side was off on 3 carbs, hood is shifted, side panel has been off b4, primary has been off... witness marks on the screws and primary bolt.. no other marks on any other screw/bolt that I can find.. plus somebody wrote soemthing on the inside primary sheave in black marker but belt has rubbed most of it off.

I don't see any signs of crate damage to mine but I think you better get that sled back to your dealer and find out the story. One of the main reasons why I bought a rx-1 was so I would not have to wrench the darn thing so I think its time to have my dealer take a look at things.

i know of some dealers that buy new sleds that were damaged....they goto auctions and buy the brand new sleds with a little damage i.e. dented hood, gas tank, front suspension......they buy it for 40%-50% cheaper then fix it and sell at thier msrp.its hard for you to know this too.

could be as simple as a burned spot on the belt seen it lots of time, feels like the sled is gonna blow but its just the belt with a small burned spot on it,just one good squeeze of the throttle with the parking brake on and you have a bad belt....hope this helps
