Just bought a used 2014 Viper and there is a noise in the clutch I can't figure out. I made a video to see if anyone can help. It's fine when you start off but then you'll hear it get pretty loud... then gets quieter again if you get into it further. It's all stock right now.

Most of that noise is coming from the roller pins, take your index finger and thumb and move the bolt holding the pin and you'll see what im talking about, you can get some plastic washers or grind down the roller pins for a permanent fix, secondly depending on mileage on sled, your primary weight shims (plastic washers) might be getting a bit worn to, that will contribute to some noise as well.

Thanks. Good to know it is normal. I'll do those couple items to see if it quiets down some.

My 2016 started making a similar noise this weekend from about 5000 to 6000 RPM and can feel a little vibration that wasn’t there last year. Nothing at idle and can’t hear it at higher speeds. Took the belt off and ran it to eliminate rest of drive line. Still noisy. Only has 650 miles on it. Was new last year. After checking the primary over I found that the whole clutch rocks back and forth a little if you grab it. I suspect the stub shaft bearing is bad. It will start to make a slight squeal noise at idle if you run it for a while. Let it sit and cool and restart it and the squeal noise is gone. It had the normal clutch rattle last year by this is different. Taking it in since it’s got extended warranty.

murdered141 you say to grind down the roller pins for a permanent fix, can you give me a little more detail on that, I picked up an 09 nytro last fall, clutch rattles like crazy, bought a kit to fix, metal washers, it was good for maybe an hour and back to the same. A permanent fix would be great, any help would be appreciated.

I had the same issue with noisy roller pins at certain rpm's, drove me nuts, nylon washers on each end of the bolt did the trick, thank you.
