I am looking at buying a new viper but csnt decide if the turbo is worth the extra couple grand and also the differences from the rtx and ltx.. Any info on this sled is a huge help. Thanks everyone
RTX is 129 track and LTX is 137
Hope this helps not sure what else you were lokingfor.
P.S. Turbo is add on accessory to MTX mountain sleds only. Some say it's available on the XTX 141"

I def want the 137 but saw on another post that rougher trails the 129 has better handling. I feel the 137 will help with the bumps and csnt see 8 inches of track interfering with handling? I ride old forge/tug hill ny

If you strictly ride trails and no off trail deep snow riding the ltx or rtx are what you want. I ride tug hill. My ltx se is a great sled for the type of riding. Never rode an rtx but they will be every bit as good regardless of the slightly shorter track, you however would not be able to get the turbo option for those models and I don't think they would even sell one for this area because of the low altitude unfortunately or I'd be buying a new one rather than dropping $4500 for the turbo setup on mine lol

It all depends on what kind of riding you do. If you a trail rider I would get the LTX DX, then you will have a nicer ride and won't have to worry about revolving your shocks. Cause the SE is pretty stiff. The turbo is nice and fast, but if you like just a little extra speed they offer a lot of bolt on that will increase your hp and you can start and go. No messing around with boost, AFR numbers watching your temps and worrying about the fuel you put into it. Bolt ons add a lot of speed and 87 fuel is just fine. Header pipe, muffler, K&N filters and a PCV and clutch kit and your good. I'm a very hard rider like to jump and so on and I find the LTX SE is a little on the stiff side. And shocks will have to be revalved. They both handle great and with the longer track will be able to bridge the bumps better. And a little better off trail.

Thanks so much everyone.. I ride trails and lakes with very little off trail. When we get deeper snow I love the off trail riding but in old forge we don't get that opportunity like last year often. I do like jumping and ride very very aggressively tho. What's your thoughts with me liking the air and aggressive riding

My honest opinion, rtx or ltx will 100% fine, doesn't really make a difference either way, I'd maybe lean towards the rtx as I think suspension wise they are going to be closer to what you're looking for. The longer track on the ltx may help a bit but truthfully it's only an extra 4" footprint.. U really aren't gonna notice a difference if u are an aggressive rider. Price around and see what is available for models and colors and what catches your eye the most cuz between the two models they will be equally as good

No I think that is available on all models but they may have only been a spring order deal, or maybe that was the blue and orange..not for sure on that but I do know that color scheme is available on all the different track length models

I csnt find that one anywhere except on mountain sleds.. So probably RTx over ltx and the only difference is track length? Nothing with shocks ?

I do believe there is one model with the fox float evol front shocks but again that may have only been a spring order deal. I'd just go with whichever model you can get a better deal on in the SE package. I'm sure yamaha made shock changes from 14 to 15 so you will be very pleased with either one. I think with the rtx you are going to be able to get more front end lift making it easier to ride in the rough stuff

The difference in the math from 129 to 137 is indeed 8". But you actually only get 4" more track on the ground. However, if you take into account the track pitch being 2.86", you really only result in 1 more complete lug on the ground (2 lugs would be 5.72") over a 129".

Do they only have the blue and white like this one available on the mtx? I own a graphic print and installation shop so I'll have to wrap my own if so![]()
