I have used the stock gasket many times. it splits with half on either side but still usable. 26000km on 2 different viper and never changer gasket.$27 for a gasket, if reusable would be ok. But for single use, terrible. Especially considering how much has to be moved to do maintenance on them. Oh well, I still love the ride!

I went to my auto parts store and picked up a piece of metal reinforced exhaust gasket material and made one using the original as a template. It's been in there for 2 years and I've had the muffler off and on several times without any problems and there's lots of material left over to make another one if needed.I have used the stock gasket many times. it splits with half on either side but still usable. 26000km on 2 different viper and never changer gasket.
