Viper exhaust gasket!!!!!

I was happy to see the EVO turbo kit I just out on my Viper came with thick copper gaskets.

I dont have the turbo kit, but evo mufflers Come with the copper gasket too.
i noticed that my flanges dont seal tight enough to the copper gasket.
There is definately a small leak that can be felt with your hand.
I dont like silicone sealer. In my opinion its a patch not a proper fix for exhausts.
I have about 6 of the stock gaskets so im just gonna run those till i figure something better out.

Some of those copper gaskets had too small ID also. Needed to be ground out to match pipe.

so I pulled the muffler back apart, cleaned everything and noticed 2 spots where welding spatter were on the faces! The side that was leaking is where those small blobs of spatter were! I filed the imperfections off added high temp o2 sensor safe silicone and reinstalled the muffler. The copper gasket had a small indent where the spatter was sitting against so I lightly hammered it back flat! If anyone buys a copper reusable gasket be sure to examine the faces of the muffler and the flex pipe very carefully before install!

Just took mine off last night and a small part of it was stuck to muffler.. got one on order now, did not know about the back ordered gaskets.. hopefully it doesn't take too long to get one..

I went threw about ten of them with 2 sleds that's why I went with the reusable ones

no but you may get lucky once or twice I've tried antiseize on a new gasket hoping I would keep it from sticking\ripping but had no luck

I got the old one on there now it stayed for the most part in one piece with no leaks currently. but the mechanic in me wants it to be perfect so I ordered the new one, I will throw that one on there once I receive it... hopefully not two months from now. or just forget it and order the copper.

Where are you guys ordering the copper gasket from, and how much are they?

I dont have any copper hanging around. Is there anything else I can make a more reusable gasket out of?

$27 for a stock gasket in Ontario, crazy.
$27 for a gasket, if reusable would be ok. But for single use, terrible. Especially considering how much has to be moved to do maintenance on them. Oh well, I still love the ride!
