Viper rtx/Ltx vs 600 class sleds

I think Yamaha tried to make the vipers slow this past year. Like the turbo viper getting beat by all the stock 800's when the year before that it was a lot faster...maybe to make the sidewinder look extra fast this year..

I think that was more a result of the muffler constriction on the MPI trail turbo kit keeping the HP down to the mid 150's instead of the advertised 180.
 
If I might might add, you could do passes (races) all day long, one after the other, back and forth, any day every day.

Actually it dynoed at 162 I believe because they didn't want to turn as much rpm for whatever reason, the trail turbo the year before made 175 hp at 4.5 pounds on the same dyno.
 
Intake, can, and properly tuned clutch kit and the viper is a 700+ class sled.
