Guys,
I am going to get a Viper and am coming off a Nytro RTX that had pretty much all the mods that made it a rockin sled- pipe, PCV, suspension etc and am in need of deciding on whether to get a RTX or XTX as I ride 80% trail, 20% off and ditch riding as I am in MN and yes I have read as much as possible about what each of you have done to your sleds and appreciate it all but -- If I get the XTX with the uncoupled rear, will it be just as fun on the trails as the RTX? And is the RTX capable of NOT diggin to China immediately when playing off trail in the woods! LTX SE sounds like a lumber wagon at this time or am I wrong?
Thank you for your comments ahead of time!

If you still plan to ride 80% on trail I say stay with a RTX or LTX but stay with coupled suspension. The LTX is very close to the XTX for those off trail times.

I rode a 2015 LTX SE that was much softer then my 2014 RTX SE. Jumping to the XTX seems a little drastic.

I tested a rtx dx and xtx se and I preferred the xtx. The trail ride and handing was very close IMO but the hook up of the xtx had me grinning everytime I came out a corner. Just seemed faster and more fun to ride. I don't ride really fast anymore but I still love the feeling of acceleration with skis lifting. Most dealers have demos so call around, ride em and choose.

I was going to go with the XTX at first. In the end I chose the LTX SE. The reasons the winters here in the east or lack of. I would have needed to purchase a longer trailer. Track height of the XTX in minimal snows. I like the long track for the ride as well. The LTX seams to be the more practical long track for flatlanders. I really like my LTX a lot. IMO. Wish it had a snow maker attachment.. Pray for some snow!!!

I do the same riding in Manitoba just north of the border and I went with RTX as I had a fx nytro RTX. I do ride aggressive though and if you do not perhaps get the DX version as it is more plush. You also have to take in account that the procross chassis is 129 to the fx nytro's RTX 121. I find the ripsaw 2 so much better than the rip 1 and to me does not trench near as bad. LTX most say bridges the bumps better. Good luck.

Should be a test ride around by you, this would be where I would aim my sights at....to try the models and see which one YOU like.
Had the same questions you did..... When I was asked to ride the prototypes, I was like....$@#! YEAH!!!! The XTX was by far my favorite. Rails on trails and it's the perfect sled for me.
So with that, find someone that will let you take it for a spin or find a demo near you.

I demoed a ltx se 137" last Saturday and was very impressed! I don't even know what the differences are between the Rtx, xtx, or ltx dx se etc. I know there's different shock packages and track lengths but what do thos letters stand for?
