Side by side to 80 then we both backed off because of obstacles.
We did four passes, same thing. Viper xtx vs 128. Same guys, me 168, cat 150 rider.
Depending on take off I could jump him about 1/2 sled maybe because of traction. But if I let him have the take off we were even.

Good to hear I was worried the Viper would not be on par with an 800 seems to have speeds of a 600. Keep the info coming!
2012 800.
Since then I have not been able to meet up, but I have felt a notable increase in power at 430 miles. I will pull him for sure

My apex and my buddies 800 skidoo etec pulled pretty hard away from the new ZR 8000 kinda disappointing for the power they output.

I think the cat 800 is very inconsistent. You can get a good one or a bad one and they need to be set up right. A good running properly set up one will go like hell. I lined up with one with my 13 xtx and I smoked him out of the hole but he blew by me pretty quick im guessing before 80 mph. And Im able to beat the viper.
I believe 04-05 F7 studded
2012 800 no studs
Mine stock xtx with Ulmer clutch
I took them both out of the hole. Both by two sleds. Both complained about hooking up. At around 80 they both caught me.
The 800 passed me up a lot. My sled just runs out at 85. Anything over that needs a lot of room.

Every drag race is won and lost in the first 60 feet.

Absolutely! We had a groomed trail on the lake and ran 600' between a 2010 dragon, two crossfire 800(12's) and my 2011 apex. I had no problem with the any of them from start to 600' with a 1.5" track. The one 800 cat was unreal. I don't believe any mods but when the two 800s lined up he had the other one beat by 2.5 lengths and they are roughly the same weight. Same track, year, everything. 2.5 lengths and gaining
