Ya that seems about right I can cruise at 60-70 mph and hardly go over 7000rpm. Not too sure of what the rpm is cruising slow. Mine engages at right around 4000 with the clutch kit. With the kit it's very smooth at 0-10 mph than after that you can feel it's ready to launch. Makes it nice for road crossings or parking lots
