I was wondering what everyone is getting for top speeds on their xtx. I seen 97 once on hard pack but the most I've seen lately is 91 tops then it feels dead even going down hill. The sled revs 8800 rpm's. just curious if this is all its got.

Check and see if your slides are wearing. There is a major lack of wheels on this skid which causes for a lot of speed loss. 104 out of my ltx se today. I have 2 sets of extra wheels on my skid
93 yesterday on 5" powder on road. Maybe 1/2 mile. Ulmer clutch.
Actually felt it had more, just no room.

What does your sled rev at, I have a dalton clutch kit and havent got it dialed in 100% yet. Did your kit have new springs and helix or are u using stock secondary setup

My D&D kit has weights, primary spring and helix. If you're running 8800 rpm your prolly ballpark to where you need to be. Not sure how the xtx compares to ltx in gearing with it should still be capable of darn close to 100 in stock form. Seems to be a lot of different factors to make this chassis really run fast. Stiff suspension hurts top speed as well as too much ski pressure. Lack of wheels/slides dragging really hurts. Different conditions it does vary a lot. I hit 104 on ice and that was after I installed D&D quiet can and I was tapping the rev limiter the whole way so proper clutching would have really helped that but the sled on hard packed snow will run just as fast as on ice. In deep snow it still reads 85 on speedo. True speed is obviously less but it seems to perform pretty good everywhere. It doesn't dominate in any area, just a good all around sled

Theoretical top speed is 181 KPH on the XTX (113.2 MPH) after that its parasitic losses (driveline inefficiency, friction, wind resistance, mass of the #*$&@ on the seat etc.)

Did you use the stock spring in the secondary?

Our XTX's have 21/41 gearing vs LTX 24/50 but then XTX pitch is more n gears it down and taller lugs also more weight
Ulmer, different weights in primary, secondary spring and helix. Was hitting rev limiter with new belt, now don't.
Well back when mine had 190 hp and overdrive sheaves - 1 time on a long rail grade with perfect hard pack and pulling 8900 rpms i got 106. 101 to 103 is the norm. I am in the process of rebuilding after I made it into a 2 cylinder
and now will have 10-12#'s of boost looking at 230 to 240 hp

At 106 did you have full shift out or was there more speed left in it?
I did not have the ability to mark the clutches so I am not sure. It did while on a stand in the shop. It would not climb any further and later that weekend it blew up so not sure if it was hurt at that point or not!
