my wife's 2011 VK540III will start and run but won't idle, I have to feather the throttle till it warms up then it is fine. Not sure but I am thinking of carb icing. Any thoughts???

All the old yamaha air cools ran this way. My enticer does the same thing when it is not warmed up. I usually just play with the idle screw to keep it happy but am thinking about using the wire trick my dad used to on his et340t

My dad used a piece of blasting wire to hold the throttle open on the handlebar to warm the sled up at really cold temp's on a track stand just over idle.
Carb cleaning would not hurt. In my case it did not work. Might just be a piston port thing.

No it has that yeiknen (that is what I call it) 2 barrel single carb on my et. They only put it on the et410 and 340 ovations. Have not been able to find a decent breakdown on this carb yet. I always got a deer in the headlights look when talking to old dealer about it here as well.
His vk540III will have a single mikuni in it so a cleaning would help.
Btw merry Christmas all.
