I have an 08 vkpro. I do like the unit but, these are the problems I have run into.
1- mud flap gets caught in track when in reverse.
2- fuel pump does not like to work a -45c even when plugged in. (Have to heat the fuel pump so diaphragms would work.) If Yam was not going to go to fuel injection on this unit, they should have gone to an electric fuel pump on this unit.
Long story short. One way clutch is Done. 1200.00 cost.
Fuel pump 275.00. No rebuild kit available.
I am going to trade my unit in on a fuel injected unit.
I mean this post for information only. Not to offend.

Never had any issues you speak of other than wishing I had fuel Injection. My VK Pro has been a trusty sled for ice fishing in tough conditions. The only other utility sled I would consider is Ski-Doo's Expedition wide track with the 1200 4s.

I don't need a work sled any more, I am not using wood to supplement heat any more. I am Dealing on a 2014 Viper now. We will see how that goes.
