I can't believe that there hasn't been any buzz on TY yet about next weekend's (Jan. 24-26) vintage event at Waconia. This year Yamaha and Yamaha powered sleds are the featured brand.

Any TY members planning on attending?

Here's a link to the event: http://www.mwvss.com/events/

Waconia

Started loading up tonight. Taking 2 sleds and loading them up in the new trailer. See you there.

I was just wondering that the other day which brand it was this year. I might have to sneak out there. I missed the last Yamaha one. Trying to remember what year that was.......

I just noticed on the Waconia web site that Yamaha is going to be at the event with some of the 2014 sleds offering demo rides.

They will also have some of the racers from Yamaha's glory days of oval racing such as Mike and Lynn Trapp, Ed Schubitzke, Franz Rosenquist, Bobby Donahue, and some corporate people of past and present there.

Should be a great event for Yamaha fans.

I can't remember the Trapps, but have seen the others race, especially Bobby Donahue at Eagle River. Hate to think how many years ago that was!! :drink:

I was there today. DARN COLD!!

Watched some vintage drags, roamed the swap, went inside to check out the Yamaha display of the vintage race machines and demo rode the new Vipers (my second time).

I bought the Yamaha hardcover book and had Wayne Trapp and Bobby Donahue sign them while we chatted. Also stopped to say hi to Olav Aaen.

I will post some photos soon.

Awesome event the old 75 SM292F made the entire 11mile vintage ride. Will be showing it tommorrow.

OK thanks, would have loved to have met up with you. I looked on my PM archives to see if I ever had your cell # but I did not. I made my decision at the last minute to go on Sat. Funny thing is there were about three guys from my work that went too but with all the clothing a person had to wear to keep warm you could easily slip by anybody.
