has anyone tried the slp miniature water gauge? It's only 45 dollars and comes in a 1 inch size for the nytro. Also says it will record your max temperature as well as give readings for current temp. Not sure if it runs on a battery though or uses the sleds power. The picture on their website looks like it has its own battery.

yeah I saw that too, but I don't want a digital gauge too hard to read when riding. I know I am too picky,LOL

Surprisingly I found the Daytona Digital to be very easy to read. Normally I prefer analog to digital, in fact that's what's in my truck. Some guys mount them in a way that vertical needle position is "nominal". The problem is that the temps on these sleds is all over the place. Perfect conditions and it's at 180, go off trail for a bit, it's down to 165, hard pack it's up to 195 and hard pack for a while it's at 205-210. I mounted my Daytona just above my fuel cap, a quick glance down at any speed and it was easy to read, it's got a pretty large display. Often I would look for a 2-4 degree rise or even just an increasing trend, say I entered lower snow conditions, I think it's actually more difficult to see that small of a change on an analog unit at a glance.
