There are two reasons to wear a helmet, keep your noggin warm and the other is.....as my cousin who works in the ER says, no helmet = organ donor. Nuf said! But yea backing of the trailer without a hemlet is BS!

Newberry has been kind of Famous in years past for harassment. I honestly don't make Newberry a stop if I can avoid it.
 
I ride through Newberry every time I'm up north (about every other weekend all winter for past 15 years). Never ever had problems with any law officers.
 
Me either but I have a friend that had a incident north of town on the trail to Paradise a couple year ago. Plus you hear things over the years.
 
It's too bad that one (or two) rogue officers with a "Napolean Complex" or something to prove will ruin it for everyone! This really is a nice area to ride with miles of well groomed trails as well as lots of old logging trails, cut overs, wide open swamps, etc.

If anyone gets a wreckless driving ticket from Wyatt Earp, the Fed/ U.S Marshall on a power trip, because of the trails being rough (he watches the headlight bounce) send me a p.m. and I'll go to court with them if they wanna fight it. 2 more infractions and his #*$&@ is gone.

And remember, you can have the Federal Defenders Office for the Western District of Michigan defend you. 906-226-3050. Don't feel like you're imposing on them. They look forward to fighting Cote and his ludicrous tickets and unconstitutional stops.
 
Glad to see the system has some checks and balances, and this guy can't just do what ever he wants. Hope they bring him down into the real world. He needs to go out and stop so real trouble makers, not Good people out safely enjoying a Great sport!
 
They need to just relocate him...To Wayne county to patrol the Detroit river to enforce fish and game!

Please tell me what citation to a law is on the ticket. I do not believe it is illegal in Michigan to ride multiple people on a snowmobile. It is illegal on an ATV, but not a snowmobile.

There is no such law in regards to riding two on a sled ...fight it!
 
That maybe true this certain officer wrote the ticket for riding two up but the violation code is reckless driving or endangering a rider.

Just a update have been talking to certain people the ticket is being reviewed have to send letter in my words of how this event took place then is up to the federal prosecutor.

Yes fighting this ticket is what I want but for the cost will be more than what the fine is.
 
Sometimes the principal of it is worth more then the ticket. Thankfully so far the RCMP around here aren't to over zealous with tickets. Least not that I've heard about. If I got stoped for some of the reasons listed here I would have a extremely difficult time keeping my cool. If I was a outsider and I saw him coming up behind me I'm not sure I'd even stop. Sounds like he doesn't like to get to far away from his truck anyways. If he keeps treating people like that someone will knock some sence into him.
