I finally got to ride my warrior this weekend,I recently purchased the sled with 600 miles on it. I am looking for help witha couple of issues: 1. the sled is not that fast, fastest it would go on the lake was 101 mph per the speedo. 2. High speed cornering on the machine is terrible. I have to fight iwth the sled to get it to corner, when it does corner it feels twichty like its going to flip if i push it any harder. My F7 while not a great cornering sled, was much better than the warrior. What adjustments would fix this? I weigh about 160LBs and liike to ride fairly agressive. The motor thing has me baffled, most people claim the warriors rip. I was getting spanked all weekend by a ski doo renageade 600.
It was suggested that to help cornering I soften the front skid shock, increase the gap on the control rod and go up on the limiter straps.Would thses changes work? Any help would be appreciated

stinx... I recently bought a new Warrior after dumpimg my 04 F7 with all of it's problems. I also had an 03 f7 and that one had more problems than i have time to mention.I now have 700 miles on the Warrior and I can tell you the following

1) after 50 miles i put a set of C&A pro's and the push is gone
2)YOU MUST search on this forum for suspensions tips. They work and the Warrior is a whole new handling sled. The rear sucks up anything the trail throws at it. I have mine as follows. FRA - hard, #2 on rear spring, Clicker shock 3 turns hard, tranfer rods at 50/50 gap. i'm 195 lbs.
3) keep the Warrior within its limits. It's not an F7 ditch banger

Yamaha's are well built. PERIOD!! Some recent Yamaha's i've owned, Viper er, sxr700, srx600, several vmaxes....This Warrior is the best of the bunch. Remember it's not an F7 but it will get you home without a rope. Trust me i know!!

You want to get rid of the uneasy fealing it gives you in the corner??
(lowere the front springs by 5 turns each)

Put your FRA at full soft!

Suck up your limiter straps by a inch or more!!

I did this on mine and WOW!!! IT made a huge difference!!

I also think it needs a new set of skis..Probobly C@As and it would be perfect!!

OOPS!! also THE ENGINE THING!!

gO TO:

thespeedshop1.com and purchase a stage two clutch kit from Matt!!

It makes a 8-10 sled difference... also check to make sure your air box is properlly sealed at the carbs!!

It should definitely be going faster than that. You should take apart and clean your carbs, and inspect/adjust/replace your plugs. Also make sure that your RPMs are climbing to proper range (9300 pulls up to 10200 stock, peak hp 10300), and make sure your track isn't overtightened.
