Saw 120mph of the dream meter of my brother's 04 warrior this afternoon at the end of a 1/2 mile ride on ice with 2 inches of hard pack snow crust. What speed was I really doing?
The numbers only started slowing at 114 but it took longer to get from 90-110 than it did from 0-90. Tucked in low with my helmet right behind the windshield, tucked my elbows in and went as aero as possible.
I think she'll crack 120 easy on a longer run but I don't have access to a speed holding GPS or radar gun, so what is this sled really running?
I've gone 105mph true on another machine and this felt a good bit faster.

I had mine to 106 a few weeks ago and the fastest speed on the GPS was 93.7MPH. I think I am going to check my track tension as I am not seeing near the speeds that others on here are claiming. Anyone else have any ideas. 93.7 was the fastes speed all week with some good long runs on some good trailes.

Last year on my 04 Warrior I saw 123 MPH on a lake, with OSO primary, shimmed secondary, 137.5 main jets, Green Holtzman springs, and NGK 10 plugs. This is 109 MPH on radar!
This year I added 4 TPI valves, 160 main jets, 14.5 mm rollers and Silver Secondary. On the last trip to Quebec they where having a meltdown and trails where greasy. On one occasion I saw 114 MPH on a straight away in these poor conditions, while an 05 RX1 on these same trails hit 104 MPH.
I'm going back up on Feb 11-19 and hope to have colder weather and better conditions to see what she can do

I had my warrior up to 126 on the speedo many times. On a long run...4-5 miles you can play with the wind
Its actually faster if you lay back! Get your knees tucked up in by the bars, and lay back on the seat, you will gain 3-4 mph. My sled had stock clutching and no studs and would turn 10,500-10,600 on a run like that. ===SRXSRULE===

Hey Bob... I am running from sportsmans lodge (Sudbury) on 2/16to post 392 (Timmins) 2/17 to north adventure inn (Cochrane) 2/18 and back down. Look for the Candy red Rx1 with a couple of Vmaxes and a couple of Doos. I am taking my daughter for her first wilderness saddle bag ride.
I did your (Black John) clutch set up and synced the carbs. I still can't get over 9900 most of the time. There is a lot more pull though.
Maybe we will see ya on the trails.

Seems like 120mph is 109. Still pretty impressive all things considered. I find a huge top speed difference with changing temps, snow conditions, etc. Warrior's skid feels like it has a tremendous amount of drag in any snow. 120-117-114-110 runned hours apart, same course, different temps. Always turning 10200 rpm though.
