Pull the side panel off the clutch side and look down below the secondary clutch. There is a little gear bolted to the end of the driveshaft with the sensor 'looking' right at it. It's easier to get to if you pull the secondary completely off, but if I recall correctly, it can be done with it on. There are two bolts holding the sensor on and the plug is only about 4 to 6 inches from it I believe.

Hahaha....no dumb questions on here!!! Believe me, I've asked some 'dumb' questions as well!!! If someone has never had to deal with certain parts, it's much easier to get some pointers on here before diving in to it!!! Good to hear you got it figured out!!!

Why did the sensor go bad? You might want to consider changing the bearing before you put in a new sensor.

You don't need to pull the clutch off. There are two bolts that hold it on and you can get to them very easy with the clutch in place. The plug-in is right under the painted plastic in front of the tank cover. You might need to take out the screws to loosen the plastic for ease of unplugging and plugging in. Just did this a few weeks back. Make sure your bearing is GOOD! That is what took out my sensor and gear!
