Did anybody ever figure out if there's a good way to tell if the latest flash is done? I brought mine in and they said they did it, but dealer guy said they have some problems "getting it to stick" whatever that means. I hope they didn't have problems and say "ah screw it" and claim that it was done just to move on to the next one. Rather not have my starter grenade mid season..

Call Port Yamaha, give them your VIN and they will tell you if you have the latest re-flash on it. They re-flashed mine, no issues. If you bought it new take it to the dealer you bought it from. Some dealers don't want the "risk" re-flashing a sled they didn't sell. I guess if they lose internet connection during the reflash it can screw up a bunch of #*$&@ on the sled and it costs the dealer like 800$ out of pocket to fix. Yamaha does not give them any kickback for doing the re-flash.Did anybody ever figure out if there's a good way to tell if the latest flash is done? Related topic: If you're selling a Viper please mention what flash you're running. If yours runs good then come on out and say so! Assume all potential buyers know about this issue.

Had the latest flash done on my 2014 XTX this fall, and so far, I am impressed! It starts better, runs smoother, and has noticeably better acceleration. My 2016 was serviced last April, and it doesn't seem to have the same "pep." I am wondering if that flash was available back then, and if it was available, whether my dealer installed it.Related topic: If you're selling a Viper please mention what flash you're running. It's a shame that people have to guess what flash they have. I have had my Viper since new, so Yamaha knows who I am and that I own this sled and I have never had one communication related to the flash from them. I do get emails every year when they intro the new models though. I just find out from this forum and take it in.
So thanks again TY
