Well I just got back from the 2nd week of riding in the UP. Checked out a few of the posts on here when I returned and wow what a bunch of grumpy gusses.

I just pushed mine to the 400 mile mark and let me tell ya, it's only getting better. I still have all my bogie wheels, hand warmers actually got hot. Burnt my thumb on the throttle warmer and I added a low Attak windshield this week and that did the trick. Saturday morning the trails were a bit (understatement) rough. I backed the front floats down to 60lbs. took 2 mins. & 40 secs. and went out for the first real tear.

I had put 125 miles on it last week (babied it) and now it was time to step it up a notch. Still wary of all I have been reading and not wanting to break out of my break in plan. Ran most of the morning between 6000 and 7500 with a few bursts to 9000. I did find that at 7000 and above the hand warmers were getting warmer than last week. With the shock pressure down the 3 chop passed under me with no arm pump and popped up to stand through several deep crevasses like a snow pro rider.

Passed 250 miles around 1:00 and then found a section of trail 14.5 miles just groomed that runs on a seasonal dirt road. The road is now frozen and has about 16" of rolled and groomed snow on it. I made 6 passes stepping it up each time. The little bit of darting that I had experienced earlier disappears at 70mphs. the machine glides over 1' - 2' troughs and I found myself no longer searching for the bumps to prepare myself like I did at speed on the RX-1.

Somewhere around 300 miles I started opening her up I would pull 10200 with no problem seeing 113 on the meter on short bursts. I still am not comfortable pulling that for long so I would take her up and drop off to 8500 and then pull her again. At 350 miles I decided to turn in a bit more forward bite because at launch sitting down I am pulling the skis a foot off the ground. 3 turns seems to have balanced her for now. the motor is definitely pulling harder now than last week or Sat morning. It started to sleet and vision became a problem and parked for the night.

It snowed 6" on Sat night and the groomer went through about 10 pm. Sun morning found fresh snow on the groomed trail and decided it was time. I took her out on the 14 mile stretch. There were no sleds where I was staying and the day before saw maybe 10 sleds all day except at the Hoop & Holler. I made one pass at 80 mph to check the trail and see what traffic was like. I pulled the trigger and let her go. Still not WOT but a good pass needle bouncing around 9-9500 speeds around 95 to 102.

This thing flies, confident, and sure footed. The adrenaline rush was overpowering. With stock 4" bars up front there was no push, platform was stable and felt as if it was running at 50% of capacity. On the 3rd run a Mach Z passed me while I was sitting at the head of the trail and he was flying. I waited 2 mins then fired it up and took off. I caught him at the 6 mile mark and followed at 80 mph for a mile. We hit a long straight on this 2 lane open road and I pulled up beside him.

He punched it and I dropped in behind him and we ran to the end of the trail at 100. We sat and talked for about 5 mins at the end and then he said lets go back and you lead. We took off and I forgot about breakin.

Got to the end of the trail shut her down and waited almost 2 mins till he showed up. I was soaked. Couldn't tell ya if the warmers worked or if the track was still on the thing and it took a while for everything around me to stop moving.

I have raced formula cars, sprint cars and bikes but nothing for anywhere near $10K has ever left me feeling the way this sled did at the end of that run.

All I can say is this is only week 2 and my project RX-1 sitting in the garage is probably going up for sale.

Thanks Tork I am not a shreader but but all I can say is I am still stoked. I did not want to come home. I need to win Power ball or something.

Yamadog,
Excellent post. Glad to hear such a good report. That's why we bought these sleds. I am a bit jealous as conditions here in Maine aren't as favorable. Send some our way!

Yamadog-"We took off and I forgot about breakin"

I can picture it now.The theme from "Dog the bountyhunter"
starts playing.Something like this.
With fear and darkness all around you.The Mach-Z`s are on the run.No use in hiding in the fog.I`ll hunt you down cause I`m the Dog,I`m the Dog,the big bad Dog,the Mach-Z hunter.
