I was at Lake of Bays to witness Matt ride the 'red mystery sled' (2011 Apex EPS) from the Game Changer video and VIP ride for an incredible 2904.6 km in 24 hours record to be adjudicated by the Guinness people.

Congratulations to Matt, his tenacity and sheer determination was heroic.

There's lots of pics and the story posted on my blog.

cheers cr

Was wondering why I hadn't seen this from you yet, Chris. Check out my High Mileage Apex post a few threads down. Congrats to everyone involved. Nice marketing coup for Yamaha Canada!! ;)!

oops missed your post, still pumped on Matts ride... this ain't Hollywood ok, Bear had me do an interview off the cuff. Marketing coup after the fact but a big risk going in, as much as I have confidence in our sleds there is always a chance that something can go south

Thats not the record for riding a sled in 24 hrs. That record was set @ Madge lake Sask and I believe they made over 2000 miles in 24 hours.

2041 miles to be exact so whats going on here? Im all for yamaha having the record but clearly it looks like somethings wrong.

Hey CR I know a couple of very capable young riders that would love to beat that 2041 miles in 24 hours done at Madge Lake on two cats. I say Yamaha could do it on one sled no problem. Why dont you ask Yamaha Canada to back us up with a sled and some cash and lets beat this record at Madge Lake with one sled. I am sure Schraders at Yorkton would help us get it done as well. What do you say? We need to go 3300 kms in 24 hours to beat this record. I am game to organise this but I need some help from Yamaha Canada. I found this on the Saskatchewan Duck Mountain Park website. This record needs to be broke with a single Yamaha 4 stroke sled.

Madge Lake is the heart of Duck Mountain Provincial Park and is home to many big snowmobiling events. In March 2004, two local boys set a new Guinness World Record for the most miles traveled on a snowmobile: an astonishing 2,041 miles in 24 hours

Hey Sled Dog, tried searching the Guinness data base and nothing comes up on the Madge Lake record, wondering if it is unofficial (not adjudicated) . Also appears quite different with two guys and two machines, they would have each done half of what Matt accomplished on the Apex.

I wouldn't want to diminish what Matt did this season (which was totally unsolicited), that said, if you have some more info on the details of the tag team record, PM me and I'll run it by our marketing guys.

cheers cr

Well CR if its not official lets do it anyhow and make it official . All we have to do, is do it!
