I got together with a couple friends today for a little field racing. I had my 05 RX1 with Ted Jennetys clutching/air box mod and I weigh 210lbs.
One friend has a 03 F7 with just a fuel reducer (we think), this sled runs good and the driver only weighs 120lbs. Last year he run a Doo XP800 and tore it up. Next sled is a 03 F7 Sno Pro with Jason Price port job and pipe mod/Boondocker, the owner weighs 240lbs.
The field was about 1/4 mile long but that is including the shutdown area. We had a radar gun and we were hitting 96 mph.
All three sled are almost dead even. I had the best hole shot with my RX1. The 03 F7 with the light drive did not hook all that well, the SnoPro was pretty good. If we did a start from stop I could pull 1-2 sleds on the F7's and they could not catch me by the end. The F7 with the light driver was catching me. With a little more room he would run me down. The ported F7 was just a touch slower than mine. On a roll on the 03 F3 would have a sled or two on me at the end of the field.
We then had the two F7 drivers switch. The ported F7 would have 5 sleds on the stock F7 with the light driver on it. I guess when you think about it the ported owner is twice as heavy as the other guy. That eats up some hp.
Never the less I am very happy with my RX1. I thought it made a good showing for a one ton sled. I was also running a old wore out belt. I blew my good belt the other night at 109 mph.
One more thing. I have one tooth ground off of my speedo gear. On radar, my speedo showed 92 when the gun showed 90. Pretty close.
I was on a good road last weekend and pulled 118mph but run out of road. I think on a good lake it would break 120 mph.
