As I was cleaning up my 06' RTX, I was checking the weight transfer adjustment. If you check the length of threads with the "special" tool, I have it set for max. Meaning the guage shows max to the transfer BODY not front edge of Lock nut. My question is, should I be guaging it to the FRONT of the LOCK NUT, which would have even more threads showing for even more transfer? If you unscrew the transfer rod out of the body, there seems like there are quite a few threads left to get some extra transfer?

According to the adjustment sheet inluded with my owners manual, you would measure from the front of the transfer body. I think the reason for this is that there would not be very many threads left and you might break the assembly, not for certain on that part though.

I was playing around with the control rod when I was out in Wyoming last week sledding. Before I left on the trip I increased the transfer to the max. as per the spanner wrench in hopes that I could do some wheelies. If I remember correctly I butted the wrench up to the back of the top nut and measured down (spanner wrench) to the bottom of the lock nut where it seats against the shaft. What I noticed was that I had less traction on the front skis and when I would goose the throttle out of a corner the outer ski would lift and not rail the corner.
At that point I decreased the transfer as much as I could as per the spanner wrench. The sleds front end stuck to the trails alot better and virtually eliminated the ski lift coming out of the corners. This is where I left the control rod setting in the decreased transfer setting.
My front shocks are set to full soft also. I didn't take time to play with the adjustments on these shocks.

Go too far out on transfer rod and risk bending the
rod. Thats why your guage shows a maximum amount.
You are correct that maximum transfer will make sled life out of corner and makes steering sharp
corners hard as well !
