Went to the dealer today

haha... Ok, but we have spent a tremendous amount of time. These skis were not just a whim and a mold, that is for sure!

For liability reasons, it's probably a good idea that we keep people off our own snowmobiles. The idea in and of itself is great though. We will be doing a test and tune day with Excell Motorsports later on this year. We'd like to have a demo set that people put on their own sleds to try out.

That is an awesome idea! If that dealer is near a loop or a trail that would give the person a legitimate, real world experience, to put a few miles on them and be able to form an opinion. Very cool!! ;)!

My curves are here. FINALLY!!! Seemed like those backordered bad boys were never gonna show up.

Going to pick em up tomorrow and hopefully get some miles on em Sunday.

I can't give a true report till I get them on a groomed trail. Probably not for another 4-6 weeks at least.

We'll see how they do in the ditches and fields though.

Sean/Nick - Customer service has been awesome! It's the little extras that make the difference - THANKS!

You bet Don! If you don't want to give a full report, you can give progress reports if you would like. Hopefully Sunday works out!

Nick and I need to talk about those busted C&A's too FX.

if i had a job and a good sled i would have bought a set

Sean/Nick,

Got the skis mounted, just had a few questions.

1.) When you guys did all the nytro/curves ski testing last spring, did the nytro have the upper balljoint mod done? or was it all stock.

2.) How much toe out/in did you set for - and how far ahead/behind the spindle did you measure to get that spec.

3.) did you need to shim the rubber bumper at all? skis sit level, but I had really good results with 1/4" shim at the back with the c&a's, did you guys need to do this also? she's a tight fit as is, not sure if I can squeeze a shim in there.

4.) did you do any testing with a wider ski stance via spindle bushings? I'm currently running a homemade 1/4" bushing on the inside & a 1" bushing on the outside of the spindle.

5.) skis look AWESOME!! Hope they work as good as they look.

- The testing was done on the Excell Motorsports Nytro. I do not believe any upgrades/changes were made to the front end except for a full Hygear dual rate spring setup.

- We recommend .25" toe out on all Yamaha's. Because the skis are .25" wider up front, your front should measure .75" more than the back after you set one parallel to the track. You can use the flat area of the ski for the rear measurement and set your tape right across the mounting structure on the front. See the attached photo for reference however, disregard the setup instructions.

- We do not recommend any shimming. The rubber has a built in shim when compressed and installed with our skis. You'll find they are much more stiff than a factory rubber which is exactly what our skis need to perform their best.

- Again, I don't believe the Excell Motorsports Nytro has any front end modifications other than shocks and springs. We would like to spend some more time on it this year and possibly develop a solution that is better yet!

How was your Sunday ride?

Hey Sean,

Ride was pretty good. Lots of drift bustin & some high speed wheelies!!

My avatar pic was taken at 50 mph at the crest of a hill, pulled the wheelie for quite a while. good fun - put over 60 miles on yesterday.

Thanks for the info. I set mine up for 3/8" toe out - I might give 1/4" a try.

Skis worked well in most conditions, they float better than the stockers, but lacked the deep powder "bite" that the c&a's had. Steering was precise in the harder set up snow. I'm more of a trail rider, so I think these skis will fit my needs just fine - I hated the heavy steering of my outlaws, and the curves did not tire me out at all. I'll save final thoughts for when I get to ride some groomed trails.

Beautiful! Curve XS skis were designed to provide superior trail performance and better than average off trail ability all while significantly reducing steering effort over competitive brands. Nick and I are looking forward to your thoughts once you get some more time behind them in varying trail conditions. Keep us posted!
