Im looking at ordering some 9 tooth Extros for my nytro, It is a fx nytro being stretched to a 136" with 1.75" back country track.
I have read that when installing these they come into contact with the rails and that the rails need to be trimmed and anti stab kit installed. Is this true? some people say yes and some people say no. I would prefer not to have to trim my rails but could someone give me a correct explanation!!!

If it is a shortie you won't need to trim the rails when installing the drivers.

Ok right on, so even with it extended to a 136" it won't make a difference?
Also what makes it different for the XTX? are the XTX rails located a little further back?

You'll be fine even with the extension, your only stretching the rear of the skid and not moving the location. The xtx's have a more relaxed rail angle so they are just that much closer to the drivers thus needing the trim job.
