I know most of you are familiar, but myself being new to Yamaha 4 stroke sleds just learned of the Nypex.
Holy %*#&!!!!!
Is this not the perfect sled? Nytro chassis with the mighty Apex motor.
Please enlighten me. What, if any, faults are there?
Is there a "shop" that does this if supplied the two machines?
How much does the actual fabrication cost?
This sounds like the ultimate sled to me.

Faults are the initial cost, your blending two sleds into one, the apex likely has to be a wreck and the sled is a one off. Completed ones are selling between $25000 and 30000.

$30K is a fault!
I have an Apex, and have access to an '09 Nytro with a blown motor for $3500.
I wasn't sure of the extent of fabricating thats involved. But appears to be a massive project?

I too was interested and yes its a MASSIVE undertaking. Even skilled builders caution this build as its very labor intensive and ironically its not getting the motor mounted or drivetrain hooked up, its the zillion brackets and fab work to get everything else mounted.
It can be done it has been done. Its a great combo but not the end all be all.
In the end I made the decision the work wasnt worth the end result.

Way to rain on my Nypex parade guys! Haha.
I believe you are right, that its not worth the big hassle and cost.

I'd say buy a new viper, lots of room for a turbo. Any Cat skid can be bolted in (such if you're planning on making a mountain sled) and then go from there. Only weak link I see is the chaincase.

Well you can fix the chain case by changing out the gears and chain....I think team has gears and chains ....that's what I'm going to do

Is there anyway to change the chaincase on the viper to a true yamaha chaincase easily?

would not be in the same league the nypex is a great combo that yammi should have built but has not, with the right motor work & turbo kit they are plain nasty.
you can build them with a stock nytro mtx chassi have to grind off chaincase you use the apex one, from there its allot of little time consuming stuff.
you are not to far from cr racing they have done 3-4 of them you could call them for a price but it wont be cheap, they may be able to supply parts though if you want to do yourself.
there is a bunch of info on them in the snowest turbo yammi section.
