- 2018 YAMAHA SIDEWINDER LTX-LE
I have been trying to determine if my winder is an early build or late build. Not even sure what that means to be honest. I have also noticed some parts catalogs also reference different parts for the early build vs late build. Does anyone know the differences ? If so, please post them. Thank you in advance!
I’m on a 2018 LTX-LE 50th

I believe an updated brake lever is one thing.

Likely the early ones are those that are built the previous winter/spring. Cat started doing this a few yrs back, building sleds for the next model yr right away.
The date of build is on your tunnel label. I know my 50th was built in June of 17. I did get the newer brake lever(Tcat type) while I saw another 50th that was built in March or so, that had the older 17 brake lever. Same sled as mine(50th LE)
Not sure what they consider the cuttoff. But I believe there is a lull with sled assembly in TRF for a couple months(april/may or so)

Just the brake handle is different then? My VIN is #0200, I would assume that makes it an early one. Ill have to check that date when I get home.

I was looking at a sidewinder the build date is 09/17. it’s a 2018, but looks like a 2019. It doesn’t have the updated brake and hand warmer control block (has the 2018 one)
So would this be an early build for the 2019 release? Confusing.
