Thanks very much, the Katahdin web site doesn't show much of a picture. I know the folks in the local shoe shop, so getting that done is pretty easy.It does come with mounting straps and quick release clips but I've used a length of bungee cord rope to attach it. The only problem with these is that they are not made for the Yamaha sleds. The crossover between bags is to long but can be shortened. I shortened the the distance be folding material over and sewing it. Any shop that deals with heavy material sewing will do it for only a few dollars. I dropped mine off at a shoe repair shop and they charged me $6.

Well I just went to the local place that handles Katahdin merchandise. The Ultra bag Grizztracks has is NO LONGER AVAILABLE! I was going to order one today but no dice and the company only sells through dealers.
It's still on the web site but can't be had.

check ebay
I have a similar set of bags from coldwave that i run on the nytro, but only use them for trips where i need to carry clothes and toiletries on the sled. When i'm not saddle bagging it the windshield bag and tunnel bag are plenty.

I ruined two of these. They are too big and destruct when stuff flies around in them when they are half full. Also stuff gets warm from sitting on the rear plastic heating up your goods and melting your plastic. I think its called Yamaha Premium trunk bag. Dont buy it.

Picked up an '09 XTX for the Wife in September with those bags on it, looks like they've seen some miles (used/ grungy) but the tail plastic isn't melted & PO said he's not had a problem when I asked if it needed a turnout- sled has 5800 miles.
Does sit close to the back, Gonna run it & see.

It sits on top just like the one Firewood Bandit posted, except for a strap across the top is a bag. Holds the heat in. A turn out would not have any effect on this bag.Picked up an '09 XTX for the Wife in September with those bags on it, looks like they've seen some miles (used/ grungy) but the tail plastic isn't melted & PO said he's not had a problem when I asked if it needed a turnout- sled has 5800 miles.

- 2012 nytro xtx. Custom turbo 200hp and 153 2" track
With the skins tunnel bag use the turn out. I tried it with out and after a day trip it had melted a small hole. But now with turbo kit it's back on and hole is sewn shut . Good bag tho for extra stuff for sled. I carry everything thing else I need on my back
