I read the supertrax review of the apex and they saved another 5 lbs over the 05 RX-1 battery? I want to lighten my 03 battery. Any info model number and price.

Thanks

Otis

Have you used it?

It seems to have a very low CCA rating. I know that's not the only measure of a battery, but it sure makes a difference at -40. Reserve is also a factor, but you gotta have enough to turn er over to need the reserve. Let me know your experience with this battery. I also posted about the batcap and no one responded with good experience.

I used this battery all last year... WOrks great! Cranks fast, is way stronger than you might think..

It is the same battery they use in the CBR 600R in 2000

Hope this helps...

P.S. i took this battery out of my RX and installed it into my APEX GT!!

The standard 2003 RX-1 battery is YUASA YTX20L-BS at 5.1 kg (11.2 lbs).
The standard 2006 Apex/Attak battery is YUASA YTX14-BS at 3.7 kg (8.1 lbs).
You can find both part numbers in the parts catalog at Yamahas website.

Interesting (to me) - I just checked Yamaha on-line parts and confirmed the 05 RX-1 ER uses the YTX20L-BS while the 05 RX-1 uses the YTX14-BS (I had heard rumors before).

Personally I'd rather have a larger battery for those extra cold nights. I wonder if the larger battery will bolt into the Apex. Will the 05 RX-1 ER battery tray fit?

Yes the larger battery will fit.... It was kinda dumb... they wanted to save weight on the sleds without reverse and only added the heavy battery to the sleds with reverse

The smaller battery is plenty large for any temp..

If its -40 im not riding anyways... TOO COLD
