Trying to decipher if my AF gauge is whacked out or if I have a exhaust leak or if my programmer is flaking out.

Anybody have a bad GEMS what did it do? My situation is I hit WOT and the AF gauges goes full lean, then even after I decel its still showing full lean, after awhile at part throttle it starts reading normally again.

I tested the sensor last night and it worked fine

I plugged the exhaust tips and the sled died in about 2-3 seconds

If my sled was that lean at WOT wouldn't it pop or something else? It runs like a top and never misses, hesitates, or pops on any throttle position. If it wasn't for the AEM gauge I would think nothing is wrong.

Thanks!

if it goes full lean at WOT you will KNOW It... if you were actually going that lean it will start stalling.

my sled last year had a bad lean spot in the mid range if you hung there and when it got much past 14 it starts poping then just stalls out if you farther.

a/f

my rx1 with the s.c did the same thing a few years ago it would read ok at normal rideing then at wot it would go full lean my problem was the SENSOR changed that & put in a switch to leave it off until sled warms up still useing the new sensor.

No, put in a switch to power up the sensor before you start up. They have a heating element built in to warm them to keep clean.

I do that now, I turn the key to ON then let it sit there for about a min till it reads full lean and by then its supposed to be warm and ready, then I start the sled.

Thanks I'll try a new sensor again. Fricken AF gauges are worthless once the sled is tuned I should replace that spot with a oil temp gauge or something now.

Thanks for the input I didn't think there is any way the sled would run at full lean so I figured exhaust or sensor.

I am haveing the same problem with mine..just talked to my tech and he thinks its the sensor..my A\F is always 14...before it would move around..I wait for the time to start it..and then wait for it to start reading..then ride. From turnning the key to going...takes me 2-3 min..

quebecmoutainrider - your sensor is shot that is what mine did the first time.

No I guess if it read sporadically that is not good either! cant win

Yes we got lots of snow. Trails are groomed and good.

Heading to a meeting this afternoon about adding a railroad bed for sleds and ATVs in our area, it would be AWESOME if this passes. i might not have to travel to ride as much!
