Just wondering what you all are doing/have done to your Yamaha vectors this summer. I still need to take my whole rear suspension out, grease every thing up, clean the clutches, install a new fuel pump, change the motor oil, new slides (DuPont). And the only mod/ necessary part I am going to get is the Bulkhead saver kit. Other than that might be a blue snowflap, just small upgrades like that. Looking forward to seeing the upgrades you all are working on, or the parts you are replacing on your Vector!! Helps pass the summer away, haha.

I have an 08 Vector LTX GT also, over the summer I have installed a temp gauge and tether cord.
2 things I've been meaning to do for a while.

Who is with me on this? lol. I will be posting pictures as I install the upgrades.

Added 2" of foam to both of my Vector seats ! Great improvement!
You can try to add foam yourself ! I just did 2 Vectors and the Apex can't be that much harder.
Total cost was around 50$ for both. I purchased 1" thick Rebond foam
on line and glued two 1" pc's together with 3m
Next I traced the seat out
on top and cut to fit. It looks like an hour glass shape when done. One tip is to use a 4" grinder to round the edges and bevel the front of the foam where it will meet the gas tank.
Next I flipped the seat over and removed the staples.. Tip; use a pointed scratch awl for the staples and work on the corners to pry one side up. Then pull out with needle nose pliers . You only have to remove the staples down to the corner in my picture. I then peeled back the Vinyl and lifted the seat foam off the seat pan. I inserted the foam on the pan and test fit the piece. After beveling the front some more I used the #77 adhesive to mount my foam on the seat pan and put the old foam back over. I did remove the front lip of the old foam by the Gas tank about 1" back so the vinyl would stretch easier.
I then flipped it back over and working from back to the front I re-stapled it down. Tip only use 1/4" staples so they won't poke through the plastic . 5/16" staples did ! I have about 5 hours in total for both.
By adding the foam to the seat pan and putting the old foam on top of it . This holds the original shape much better.
Everyone that has sat on the seats likes it so much better !

Sweet on all the upgrades you are doing!! I had hygear rebuild my shock at 11,000 miles. They kept the stock spring, and just rebuilt it as hard as it can go, which I love!! Mine rides great now!! But it has 18,000 miles on it, so down the road soon it will be needing another rebuild. Btw, what do you have sticking out from the shock on the wire hose? Oil tank for the shock? Can't wait to see how you like the duel rate spring kit on yours!! I might have to get the duel rate spring kit for mine the next time it is rebuilt.Had the Mono shock rebuilt at Hygear !

I really do not have the time to put more foam in the seat. I really like how it rides right now. I am going to have to find time to just put all the part/ accessories on it, lol. Let me know how you like you new seat, come winter. Don't you love how if money was not object, then all the upgrades that could be done? A turbo kit would be on my list if money was no object. It is to bad they do not make those turbo kits any more for the carbed vectors.

The dual rate springs on the Mono are the way to go ! I have had them on both my Vectors for 2 years and they are 1000% better than stock. The can is a remote reservoir with Hi/ low compression adjustments. And rebound on the bottom of the shock. The can will keep the oil cooler for less fade . You can really pound on the rear suspension if you have to but the small bumps just disappear ! The standard Mono shock is Rebound only. Located on the bottom of the shock and makes the sled very bouncy if you set it up soft for the smaller bumps . I don't feel bad about putting some money into these sleds because they will run forever. My plan is to keep the 2 Vectors and upgrade When they make a new 150HP sled I want. The Sidewinder is awesome but It's a lot of sled and when you insure 5 sleds the price gets up there!

Just got my Bulkhead saver kit form Barn of parts, along with the 13 mm sway bar. And my HIDs have shipped from Sled Start!! Things are looking up for my sled this year!! Can't wait for another awesome winter of snowmobiling in Maine. I will post up some pictures when I start working on my sled. Next summer I am going to have to swap out the track, 18,000 miles on it so far, and the lugs are broken in half, lol. Going to get this year out of it, but next summer, time for the 1.5 or the 1.75" track. Idk, we will see.
