Hi there i am a doo guy that has a renegade xp 800 1.75 my own backcountry mod and i am looking at replacing it with a 09 mtx 153 with only 50 miles on it... good deal to pass up. i was looking for either a rtx or xtx and stretch it anyways. What would i mainly have to do to ride it at my elevations (1500-2200 ft.) i do alot of off trail and backcountry riding with a little bit of trail riding. What do u guys suggest i all do to it to be happy with my riding habits? any clutching, gearing, add idler wheels, and so on. thanks

ttt anyone. i having been shopping around for a nytro and i am serious about this sled. no tuning experience yet on a yammie but not scared to improve things. thanks for any input

I'm running an 09 XTX - the backcountry track - stock gearing - stock secondary and just dropped weight in the primary. Curve skis are out front and all I do is gas and go regardless of whether I'm going anywhere around here or at elevation out West.

The availible torque on these sleds allow you so much latitude in your adjustments it's unbeliveable. Gone are the day's of piping and clutching within the power band in order to effect performance. Right from the time you depress the fun paddle all the way up to WOT is now your power band.

They're an absolute blast!!

ENJOY ;)!

For riding here doesn't need much unless you trail ride lots then get hyperfax or scratchers/extra idlers...... you can lighten it up a bit if you want, but not necessary for riding the prairies. I added Floats up front to stiffin things up and huge improvement......get the clutching bang on and enjoy!
