I have the HJC IS max modular helmet. Very cold to wear. There is nothing to stop the wind from coming up from your chin. In warmer temps this is a great helmet.

I put the old HJC away the first ride i took with that sled and brought a BRP Modular 2 helmet. I hate to bring it on and off my head
for the simple reason it have to much goodies and it take a long time to get it right. but when its on the head, it work awsome
. The best helmet i've used when cold weather. Absolutely no wind enter and it will never fog. For warmer temp i use a Fox V3pilot mx helmet with 509 Sinister google that work also great.

GMax, Cheap and does the job well enough for me. I really like the modular helmets because I wear glasses.

neither of em fog up. picked my 2010 model mod 2 up on ebay brand new from a dealer for $208 with free shipping. msrp for that is 325 i believe. bv2s is a little different style. I just went into the local dealer to look at em and try them on, that way i knew what size i wanted when i ordered it online.

Im actually just using a motocross helmet, with goggles. I like the look rather than a full face helmet. Ive rode in some cold temps. but if you wear a face mask underneath you will be fine

i keep two helmets around.i have a skidoo mod2 and a gmaxx 44s also. the skidoo is great but when its 20 degrees and above it get too hot to wear so on the warm days i take out the gmaxx. with that said, if price is an issue go with the gmaxx and the heated shield, you wont be dissappointed.

My problem with the modular helmets is that the are baisically a open face helmet and provide no real pretection for you face in a bad wreck. The other thing is I think they are only DOT approved, no Snell rating wich means they are only certified for one impact vs. Snell rating wich is multiple impacts. The only Modular I have ever worn was the original one Doo came out with and I thought it was terribly drafty and I also didn't care for the breath box smothering me. I wear a HJC CLX5 Motocross most of the time and on the real cold days a HJC CL14 full face with electric shield but still prefer the goggles. I just got a KLIM Covert Balaclava and am hoping it is a good one so even on the cold days I can wear my MX. I will know more this weekend!!!

I rock the klim f4 helmet, with Klim balaclava and I have zero problems with cold. I rocked it last week in -18 conditions without issue.

Klim F4, Klim Covert Balaclava, Arctiva fleece neck warmer (cold days), Scott Turbo 89XI gogles, only complaint is my chin. Though I am 6'6 and thats more the problem then the gear, I think I am going to sew up a leather chin flap that snaps on to my helmet for the real cold days.

BV2S...once you experience the 180 degree peripheral vision you'll never ride with anything else! Also, you can replace the orange flip down sunshield with the smoke one for those sunny days. But you have to get it adjusted right before it works properly so if it foggs up then it's not adjusted right. It's spendy but worth ever penny just for the extra vision that you will have.
