Did my first ride today with my new coolant temp meter in. Meter reads temp between bottle and radiator. It consistently ran 160-165 F. Anyone else run similar temps? I belive this point is the outlet of the motor once the thermostat is open. Sled is a 2011 apex xtx.

160 is where mine is 90% of the time. Temp goes up in low snow conditions of course

They run hot! Its a sport bike, high RPM, high compression ratio, EPA bullshit lean running, machine originally made for a motorcycle. When I had first got mine, it shut down on me a few times when I was idling too long. There were a lot of articles on this and basically they put way way too much actual antifreeze , like north pole conditions worth. So basically there wasn't enough water in there. My dealer helped me out and I think I put a product called wetter water or something like that, I can't remember but I haven't had a problem since.

Product does work.Water wetter works best with more water than coolant . Have been pumping it thru for a few years in the quads and built banshee. As for the sleds , DO NOT add more water then coolant .!

I've my apex, I run 50/50 premix Coolant with Water Wetter also added, I also have added a extra big real cooler from a fire cat, so I did add about another half bottle of coolant or more. I run between 75-78 degrees in powder, on hard pack I run 79-82 degrees. I also seen scratchers drop her temp 1-2 degrees.

167-170 on my 12 xtx, warm up light goes off at 69 degrees. Easy to tell when the rear exchanger gets blocked off by snow/ice, it climbs quick to over 200.

I have my temp sensor where the coolant comes out of the top of the engine before the thermostat and runs 170/180 F, depending on snow conditions. I think with the sensor there you get actual engine temp.

With some 50/50 yamacool added along with water wetter I run between 160F-167F. Usually 163F is my norm.

Same here, sensor location and temp readings as TBay on my 11 Apex 128
