mod 08 nytro, 2-2007 phazers and a 2010 sno pro 500 speedwerx exterminator. new 2014 nytro for towing the snowcoach. 2015 Viper mpi turbo
I was looking on Ebay and came across this listing for the Solo Snowing kit for the 2007 and up Phazers, part number 90891-50142-00 what is it and what does it do? Thanks for any input.

The most info I could find were to improve traction and stability. My guess is it is a tunnel reinforcement kit.

If nobody knows, then there is probably little need.

It has something to do with the airbox just not sure what.

EDIT: After posting, noticed the part number I mention is not the same as what the OP provided (50152 vs 50142) so this would not be applicable.

As soon as I saw a pic of it, I knew what it was. It's a kit that was used with a TSB for correcting a snow ingestion problem for the 2007 only. It was done for free at the time as a product improvement and was included with all newer sleds. It also applied to VLs and MPs of the same year.

Good one Sherlock, it baffled me but I remember now.

Thanks for the info, so I have 2 2007 FX models is it needed on those or just the deep power MTX models

I would say that it was Yamaha's opinion that it would apply to all models of Phazer given that they put them on VLs and MPs in subsequent years. You'll know if you have a problem in the conditions that you encounter.

The bulletin was issued for all 07 Phazers and VL/MP as a quality assurance update. As a VIP member, you can access it as well as all the other bulletins and recalls.

I looked online and cannot find the installation instructions to do this, I bought 2 kits but no instructions came with them.

Have you checked the tech bulletin as per suggestion in post 9.

Or post a picture of the parts and I'll see what I can figure out from my sled which should have them installed.

Thanks for your time and help with this, summer project along with a few other repairs.
