Hi all! I have been looking at some headlight options and I came across some xenon gas bulbs were interesting. Also I have been looking into LED lights to see if they are an option. My question though, is the wattage of the stock headlights. I am curious of the wattage and draw on High/low beam. I didn't check the manual yet, but I figured somebody has to know on here! Thanks in advance. Oh, the sled is a 2012 xtx.

Yes,
55watt low and 60high.
I replaced my stock bulbs with 65w / 100w Rally Car halogen bulbs and adjusted my headlight up a bit from stock, not in the trees but close
I ride 95% at night and quite fast at times and this setup works great, also very low cost, got my bulbs at NAPA.

Won't a 100 watt bulb melt the wire assembly?

The LED kits run much less wattage, wouldnt this be beneficial to other electrical items on the sled like the hand warmers? The kits I looked at today replaced a 55/60 watt bulb...

I read LED lights are no good.... They are not as bright as conventional light bulbs.

I do make a habit to turn the high beam to the low setting every time I come to a stop as not to melt the plastic headlight lens, no problem with wiring.
