Hey all,
What is your favourite stud to run. I am looking to put in 1.450". Performance is more important than price. Should mention it is for an Attak.
Thanks.

I am running 144 1.075" x 5/16" Mack Studs on my RX-1 and with 300 miles so far have been very happy with them. We did some early season riding and hit a ton of rocks and railroad tracks, one section of tracks was over 15 miles long and I felt the rails quite a few times. I was the only one in the group that did not bend, break, or pull a stud and every one still looks new.
They post their prices right on the website so you know the pricing is fair and not jacked up by some dealer, you buy right from the manufacturer.
The best part is a 5-yr bend or break warranty, I have not bent or broke any yet but a few on here have a few years after installing them, they reported they sent the stud in and got a free replacement one sent right back. Woody's has a 1-yr limited warranty and good luck get any kind of customer service from them.

1.450 megabites is what I have run in the last 4 sleds. I also really like snow studs, very quality production. Have them in a 08 Nytro with 1000 miles and no signs of wear. I am going to run snow studs the next time I stud.

I run 144 1.52" Extreme Max studs in the Cobra track on my Apex.
With plastic backers I had 3/8" penetration with this setup. I just recently went to round aluminum backers due to some cracking of the plastic backers. I measured the penetration after swapping out all the backers and now notice that I have gained an additional 1/8" penetration.

Measure off the lug, not the backer... The track is where you measure peneatration to the stud. Not off the backer... So, basically, it does not matter if the backer is there or not when you measure. From the tip of the stud, to the tallest point of the track.. That's your penetration.

X2 on Mack studs. I drove up to NH to pick them up. Super nice people to deal with. Have run the 1.450's for 2 seasons now. no bending or breaking.

1/2" on a ripsaw... The 1.325's only give between 1/4-3/8's. The .1450's give 1/2". That's why they work so well....

That's what I did. When I had plastic backers torqued to 35 inch lbs the stud head was not as flush with the track. Now the stud head is sucked down into the track giving me 1/8 inch more penetration as measured from the top of the lug. With plastic backers torqued to 35 inch lbs I had 3/8" and now with the aluminum backers torqued to 15 ft lbs I had 1/2" penetration. The extra penetration is the thickness of the stud head.
