Hy guys
Looking at trading off my phazer and getting a nytro. Biggest concern is the weight of it. I eventually want to shed off every ounce that I can and turbo it. Would like to have it as a 153" with perhaps a cat float skid.
So what would be the better model to start with? The rtx, xtx, or just get a mtx? Did the tunnel change from 08 to 09? Looks like some of the 08 shorttrack nytros tunnels are super deep and I really dont like the look of that.
Thanks for the input

Is there any major changes btw the 09 and 2010 mtx?

Many changes to the suspension from 9 to 10. The rear in the 10 is all air no springs. The front got the newer geometry like the shorties in 09. Changed the tunnel and the attack angle. Like said already get a 10 or newer.

Yep, for what you said you want, an MTX. And then 2010 saw many improvements. Get a 2013 and they greatly improved things again.
Oh and why not just get a 162" track? It helps, especially since your thinking boost.

I had an 08 mtx and now own a 2010 mtx. They are night and day different! Stay away from 08, 09 nytros. The skid in the 2010 is actually descent and with the lightweight upgrade arm kit is almost exactly like the M10 skid. Plus the whole sled sits on fox floats and I love em! IMO you would love a 2010.

I dont want much longer than the 153 as most of the riding will be flatland. Maybe atrip to the deep stuff once a year. And I am sure that a 153 will be able to take me a lot more places than my riding abality would allow.
The 2010's are getting out of my price range, was thinking of getting the 2008, or 09 and modding  the skid, tunnel, front suspension to make it a better sled in the end over the summers.......i also like modding and fab work so making a chromoly front end is always another option

If you plan to modify it that much then just get a 08 shortie and start the build.

That's a good point, might as well start as cheap as you can if you are going to change everything anyways.
...what about a wrecked one with skid/tunnel damage. Cheap starting point.

I found a 08 mtx with a 156 x 2.5 challenger track. 4000kms. $6200 obo. Sound like a good deal?
doesn't sound bad. Have a look on Snowest there are some great deals there.

The advantage to getting an MTX is that a tunnel heat exchanger comes stock, unlike the shorties.
I think the MTXs have a little narrower ski stance, but I'm not sure on that one.

2010 and newer are wider then the 2008-2009 mtx's.
