In Canada it cost $75 for the yamaha filter and 4 liters of oil...

oem yamaha filter is about 15 bux, oil is about 8 bux a litre/quart plus taxes. its like insurance. you can pay alittle now or ALOT later. ski

Oh im all for payin a little now especially after ive already paid alot twice becuse two tress jumped out in front of me LOL I was really suprised at how easy changin the oil is and the dealer wanted 2.5 hours of labor to do the 500 mile service PLZ Im gonna give the engineers at yamaha props simply for stickin 10 lbs of #*$&@ in a 5 lb bag and makin it accessable

Over $100 if ya want fully synthetic!

My dealer wants 18.99 + tax for a filter and semi synthetic at 13.99 + tax each (they couldn't even find me a price or part number for the new full synth).

I went with a K&N filter (KN-147 @ 21.99+tax) and Amsoil full synthetic (13.99+tax). I only put on 600 km this winter due to persistent overheating problems so I was debating changing it at all at the end of the season. $88.08 after tax is a lot for 600 km of riding that I did. My two stroke buddies are ahead of me this year.

Not if I buy a Wix/NAPA filter and go to wallmart for oil...bought a 4 Stroke to get away from expensive oil/OEM brainwashing...guess that will never happen.

guess i dont understand people buying $10-15000 machines and get all up in arms over less than 100 dollars in parts, to make sure it lasts them for a very long time. we spend more than that in the purchase of one accessory item to make it look good. just my observation. ski

I've found that replacing full synthetic oil with honey saves a lot of money and it's good on toast too.
