If you pull higher then 10,500 the motor pulls timing out. Try to keep it around what blade072 stated. 10400-10500.

You will be making less hp at 10,800 as it is already falling off the power curve.

wow then i need to get her down by 300 rpm. anyone know how much weight it takes to bring it down 300?
1 gram = 100 rpm You Should be bang on after a gram to each weight.

Has it always been that high? Have you tried a different belt? Sometimes the belt makes a difference, not sure if that is your issue but it is an easy one to try & find out.wow then i need to get her down by 300 rpm. anyone know how much weight it takes to bring it down 300?

sled has stock gearing with the center of the track studded. it has a new belt (now has 1800 KM, sled now has 14500 km). I added the Schmidt bros. stage 2 clutch kit before my week long trip. center rivets were changed for the clutch kit for the mid-range so not sure of the weight of those, i should have weighed them before installing them. the kit also had the softer primary spring for the lower engagement. the secondary is wrapped at 70* per the instructions which i believe was stock as well. stock it would go to 10700 or so. Now it hits almost 11000 but comes down to 10800. i'm going to call Schmidt but i'm sure he said it has to be at 10800 but i might have misunderstood. it might have to hit there but settle to 10500. it feels stronger in the mid-range thou. unfortunately winter is over so i'll have to play with it next fall.

Here you go.
10,100 to 11,000 not a lot of difference.

Cool thanks riceburner for posting that link. Like you mentioned there isn't too much of a difference so I'm in the ballpark. I'll just add a gram or so to the tip and it should be good.

So it holds its max peak horse power from 10,100 right up to 10,600 & then starts to fade off. Thanks for posting that Riceburner, thats awesome info! Nice to know the exact parameters we should be running at.Here you go.
