what side do you tip your yamaha 4stroke on??

I remember reading somewhere that you should only tip your 4 stroke sled on one side or the other. I dont remember which side it was that you should tip it on though?? I asked my yamaha dealer they said they had never heard of something like that. Maybe I dreamed it but I thought I remember seeing it on here... Thanks!!
 
Oil res down. (right side).
Left side (while running) will probably end up dumping some oil in the airbox. No big deal....mines been on both.....not necessarily on purpose....but s**t happens!
 
I tipped mine on the clutch side once( not on purpose) I still have oil in the foam on the clutch side.

If you crash ,crash with the res side down (jk)

IMO don't tip the sled on either side if you don't have to. If changing track just raise the rear of the sled as high as you need to to get the susspention out. If you realy have to tip it on it's right side but not for to long.
 
I changed carbides and slides today and the sled was on both sides back and forth for about 45minutes. It was a little flooded but started right up and seams fine so I guess it dosnt matter. obviously I wouldnt put it on its side for longer than I have to but its much easier for changing carbides and slides...
 
Never had a problem tipping on either side. When I studded my track it was tipped on both sides for however long it took to mark, drill and screw the studs in.
 
I must have dreamed that up or something. Maybe its a different sled that you can only tip on one side. I remember reading it somewhere and I could have sworn it was yamaha 4 strokes but must be not or everyone would know about it im sure... maybe I just dreamed it...
 
I dont think you are imagining it , I read it befor too . Mine leaks out if it is oil tank high ,
 
tip

When you tip the sled on it"s left side it will leak oil out of the crank case breather toob, there is no need to tip the sled jack up the front about 4 in take out the old carbides and replace. Then jack up the rear take skid out and replace slides and check all bushings because worn out bushings mean broken skid parts.
